THE FOUNDER
Kreig Mitchell — former IRS Attorney and Appeals Officer.
Kreig spent years inside the IRS, first as an attorney and then as an Appeals Officer. That experience shapes the way the firm approaches every matter: we know what the agent is looking for, what Appeals will and will not accept, and where a case is likely to end up if it has to go further.
He started the firm to do tax work the way it should be done — careful, candid, and on the merits.

HOW WE WORK
Three things we are serious about.
The merits, first.
Every case has a real answer on the law and the facts. We start there. Posturing and pressure are not strategies — they are what we work around when the other side uses them.
Honest counsel.
Sometimes the best advice is “do not fight this.” We tell clients the truth about their position before they spend money proving it the hard way.
Disciplined work.
The protest, the brief, the agreement — these documents are what the case actually turns on. We write them carefully, and we revise them until they say exactly what they need to say.
WHERE WE ARE
Texas-based. Practicing nationwide.
Our principal office is in Houston, with attorneys serving clients in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and across the country. IRS controversy matters can be handled from any office in any state — the agency is federal, and so is the work.
For Tax Court matters, attorneys are admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court regardless of where the client lives.
